Who this is for

Mentorship built for serious applicants

This is not for everyone. It is for students who want a realistic, research-fit strategy - and are ready to do the work.

Masters applicants

Targeting funded or partially funded programmes in Europe. Unsure of fit, country, or how to frame their story for European committees.

You have an academic record but have not translated it into a coherent application narrative yet.

PhD applicants

Want research fit with a specific lab, not just a list of open positions. Outreach emails are going unanswered. Supervisor targeting feels unclear.

You need a research-fit argument - not just a well-formatted SOP.

Postdoc researchers

Transitioning from PhD to postdoc in Europe or the USA. Positioning publications, targeting competitive fellowships, and approaching PIs strategically.

The shift from student documents to researcher documents requires a different framing entirely.

What to expect

What you leave with

Not promises - concrete outputs from a structured engagement.

A shortlist that matches your profile

Not a list of 30 universities - a focused set of programmes aligned with your background, funding logic, and realistic admit chances.

Documents that tell a coherent story

CV, SOP, and letters that work together - not a pile of achievements that committees skim and forget.

Supervisor outreach that gets responses

A targeted, research-fit approach to contacting labs and PIs - relevant for PhD and Postdoc applicants.

Honest read of your profile gaps

You will know exactly where your profile stands and what needs strengthening before you apply - if anything.

A strategy you can actually execute

Clear timeline, defined deliverables, and a plan calibrated to your bandwidth and application window.

Clarity on what to skip

Knowing which programmes, countries, or funding schemes are not worth your time is as valuable as knowing where to apply.

Mentorship pathways

Masters, PhD, and Postdoc - each is different

The strategy, documents, and targeting logic differ across application stages. Each pathway is treated on its own terms.

Masters

Masters applications

Shortlisting, narrative, and a coherent application pack - aligned with programme fit and scholarship logic where relevant.

Typical focus areas

  • Programme direction and realistic shortlisting across Europe and the USA
  • CV and motivation letter structure - Europe-aware, not generic
  • Scholarship framing where relevant (Erasmus Mundus, DAAD, and similar logic)
  • Consistency across the application: forms, referees, and story arc
  • Interview preparation if required by the programme

PhD

PhD applications

Supervisor fit, outreach systems, and a research-first narrative - so you target labs and funding models with intent, not luck.

Typical focus areas

  • Research-fit argument and SOP / narrative alignment
  • Supervisor shortlisting using lab output and funding signals
  • Cold outreach workflow that positions you as a researcher, not a form email
  • Concept note or proposal outline where the programme requires one
  • Interview preparation and red-flag checks for labs before you accept

Postdoc

Postdoc applications

Positioning your publications, sharpening your research statement, and targeting groups with intent - for the next stage of your research career.

Typical focus areas

  • Publication-forward CV with impact framing - not just a list of papers
  • Cover letter and research statement aligned with host group priorities
  • Fellowship identification (Marie Curie, Margarita Salas, and similar schemes)
  • Lab and group shortlisting with outreach sequencing
  • Talk structure and interview Q&A preparation

Process

How the engagement works

A repeatable flow - so you always know what comes next and nothing falls through a chat thread.
  1. 01

    Intake

Share your background, goals, and timeline through the booking form - so the session starts with full context, not fragments.

  2. 02

    Assessment

Align on fit, realistic options, and what to prioritise - including whether to strengthen the profile before applying.

  3. 03

    Choose the engagement

Pick the format that matches your goal: consultation, structured track, document service, or workshop sprint.

  4. 04

    Execute with scope

Work proceeds with defined deliverables, revision rounds, and timelines - so quality stays high and expectations stay clear.

Why different

What sets this apart from consultancies

Generic study abroad agencies operate on volume - templates, junior reviewers, and commission-linked shortlists. This is the opposite.

Direct mentor access - not a team of junior agents

You work with Dr Subhra directly throughout. Not a coordinator who collects your details and passes them to someone else.

European research system - understood from the inside

Funding models, Erasmus Mundus logic, Marie Curie schemes, lab culture, and the supervisor-student dynamic in Europe - not from a FAQ page.

Research-fit first, name-brand second

Applying to a university because it is famous is not a strategy. Targeting a lab where your research direction and the PI's current work genuinely overlap - that is.

Insider perspective from selection panels

Dr Subhra has served as an interviewer at European universities. He knows what committees are actually looking for - and what makes a candidate forgettable.

Structured scope - not open-ended chat

Every engagement has defined deliverables and a revision window. WhatsApp reviews and informal advice are not part of the service.

Not for everyone

Who this is not for

Being clear about this upfront saves time on both sides.
  • Students looking for guaranteed admission or scholarship outcomes - decisions rest with universities and committees.
  • Students who want documents written for them without engagement - you bring the ideas; the work is done with you, not for you.
  • Students who are not ready to put in the time - shortlisting, drafting, and iteration require your active participation.
  • Students chasing name-brand institutions without regard for research fit or funding realism.
  • Students expecting instant turnaround over informal channels - scope, timelines, and communication norms are set at intake.

If you are at an earlier stage - still mapping your options, working on a specific gap, or not yet ready to commit to individual application support - the Academy runs monthly topic-focused webinars and multi-day cohort workshops. These group formats are designed for students at the orientation or preparation stage, and they provide a clear path toward individual mentorship when the time is right.

FAQ

Questions, answered clearly

Straight expectations-so you can decide if this mentorship is the right fit.
What is the difference between a consultation and a full track?
A consultation (Profile Assessment) is strategy and diagnosis - fit, direction, and a written action plan without document rewriting or ongoing support. Tracks are multi-week engagements with defined deliverables, revision rounds, and a support window for execution.
Do you guarantee admission or scholarships?
No. Admission decisions rest with universities, programmes, and supervisors. I help you avoid common mistakes, build stronger materials, and run a realistic, fit-based strategy. The outcome is a better application - not a guaranteed seat.
Which fields do you usually support?
I work most often with STEM, applied science, engineering, computer science, and adjacent fields where research fit and supervisor targeting matter most. If you are unsure whether your field is a good fit, book a profile assessment.
Is this the same as the Academy (courses and mocks)?
No. Mentorship is personalised, one-to-one guidance for your specific study abroad or research application. Academy is a separate ecosystem for courses, mock tests, career content, and student Q&A. This page covers mentorship only.
How do I choose between Masters, PhD, and Postdoc mentoring?
Start with a profile assessment. We align on your current stage, funding models, timeline, and whether you need document-heavy support or strategic targeting. If you are between stages - for example, finishing a Masters and considering a direct PhD - the assessment will clarify that too.
Can you review my profile over WhatsApp or Messenger?
No. Please book a profile assessment or use the official booking flow so your context is captured properly and scope stays clear from the start.
Do you work with students outside India?
Yes. While the mentorship is designed with the context of Indian students applying abroad, the strategy and document work is relevant to applicants from any country. Currency pricing options (INR and EUR) reflect this.
What if I am at an early stage and not ready to apply yet?
That is often the best time to start. A profile assessment at an early stage helps you understand what to strengthen before the application window opens. Applying with a stronger profile is always better than rushing into applications.
How long does a full mentorship track take?
Track duration depends on your stage, scope, and application deadlines. Most structured tracks run four to twelve weeks. The profile assessment will clarify what is realistic for your timeline before you commit to deeper work.
